Give me coffee and TV.
Friday, December 31st, 2004It’s 3.23 am on December 31 2004. In fifteen and a half hours I’m going to be launching this site. I’m madly formatting, writing content, pulling my hair out, drinking coffee well past the point of jittery. I’m actually making decent headway; with the help of Steve the bones of the site were finished this afternoon.
I was going to tear down the layout and redo it because I thought it was teh a55 but when I looked at it with a monitor that didn’t suck I was surprised that it looks all right. My laptop seems to assify everything; it’s a 14 pound Dell brick, a relic from the not-so-streamlined late 90s. It’s on my lap and my legs are getting hot. I’m trying not to think of them being irradiated.
Holy crap, this thing is going to be launched TOMORROW. And all that work I did with CSS dropdowns was for naught because Steve came up with a much more elegant navigation system. If anyone ever wants me to make one I can tell them where they can drop their drop down menus.
I saw a poster today that was unusually serendipitous; there’s a karaoke contest going on at a bar near my house and first prize is a thousand dollars. I’m thinking of doing Mack The Knife as all five members of the Rat Pack.
And so it begins.
