... and thanks for all the fish.
Without the support/help/patience/competence/faith of the following people, this project would not be possible. I am grateful to whatevers out there pulling all the strings to be able to embark on a scheme like My Million Dollar Year, and I don't want to give the impression that I could have pulled off anything like this on my own.
You may rightly be saying "But you haven't DONE anything yet", which would be entirely accurate. However, I think too often people only get thanked after something is successful and not while it's still a big huge question mark. So here's this page in the middle of a question mark.
This page is subject to expansion.
- My partner in crime, Etienne, who has had more faith in me than I ever thought was possible to have in anyone. Everything daring that I've ever done is because he has picked up the loose threads of my waivering self-doubt and tied them together. He has kept a straight face through my most hairbrained schemes, he has supported me in doing whatever I happened to think was cool, and he's hilarious.
- My parents and my brother Mike, who gave up trying to talk some sense into me a long time ago, have not yet disowned me, and who have put up with more crazy schemes than anyone should rightly be exposed to.
- Steve Van Egmond, of Tiny Planet Consulting. I told Steve about this project when I first conceived it because Steve is a) the smartest web dude I know, and b) is phenomenally cool. If he told me I was out of my mind and that this wouldn't work I would have stopped right there. Instead said, "That's hilarious. I'm in," and lent his mad l33t web skillz to me for free. Without Steve this website, the hulking mass that it is, would never have come to pass. I cannot say enough about Steve's worth as a programmer, a human being, and a drinking buddy. I owe him much more than a million dollars.
- Dreamhost, arguably the best web host on the entire planet. Let the record show that ***I am paying for their services*** and have not received anything from them except for stellar customer service, unparalelled value and excellent, friendly customer support, so I'm for real when I tell you they rock. I have dealt with a lot of web hosts, some good and some not so good, but no one has blown my socks off the way these kids have. Click below to get to them. (It links directly to their front page, no popups or funny stuff):

- Kim Whalen, who acted as my business advisor for over a year. I place the blame squarely on Kim's shoulders for the fact that sometimes, late at night when no one else is around, I watch Oprah.
- Monica Mitchell, who did my fantastic publicity and press photos, small versions of which you can see at the top of each page.
- Henry and Tanya, the unstoppable kids in LA, who let me sleep on their floor for ten straight days and put up with over a week of stupid adventures, late night road trips, and requests for a ride to In N Out Burger. Thank you.
- All the major credit card companies. Without Visa, Mastercard and American Express giving out high-interest cards to first year university students, my education would not have been possible and neither would the debt that inspired this project. You greedy bastards, thank you.
- And finally, a huge, heartfelt thank you to anyone who has told someone about this site, linked to it, signed up to the mailing list, forwarded a press release, contributed, bought stuff, or sent words of support. I would like to list you all here but that would probably violate some privacy law somewhere and doesn't seem like enough to show how much I am truly grateful that anyone is interested in this project, let alone a whole bunch of people.
